Further workshops are being planned. Workshop 4 is provisionally set to occur on 4th September at Hornsey Town Hall Arts Centre.
Learn about different cultures through food and
share your own culinary experiences.
Pleased to Eat You is a collaborative project which uses food as a catalyst to start conversations between cultures. The project consists a series of workshops and events that help to spark conversations with strangers by starting with making and eating food, especially if they are from different backgrounds and cultures. All of our workshops and events, from making playful scratch dumplings to food speed dating, are framed around our belief that although we may all be from different cultural backgrounds, we are the same at heart.
Making Dumpling Workshops
Foods are vast and vary drastically. Yet there are foods which are common to many cultures such as dumplings. Of course, Cornish pasty, Samosa, Ravioli and many other different types of dumplings are not ‘strictly’ dumplings. However, in the workshops, you will find that there are more similarities than differences.
Food Speed Dating
Food Speed Dating is a re-designed speed date, created to meet and talk to new people about food from different countries and cultures. Each table setting for two gets different questions and images of food from around the world that look similar or are made in similar ways.
